Storygami — where imagination takes shape and stories fold into life! It is a playful storytelling and origami workshop where young minds imagine, write, and craft their own paper characters. This workshop is designed by Mahenaz Chowdhury and the origami crafting will be facilitated by Mehdi.

Mahenaz Chowdhury is a Zero-waste Designer & Founder of Broqué, an upcycled designer label. She designs storytelling based workshops to connect artisans and artists to reflect on cultural heritage and craftsmanship. She is the editor of crafts magazine of Goethe Institut and recently curated an exhibition at SOWCO gallery, Tokyo with Market Forces.
Mehedi Hasan Roby is an origami artist who sees folding as a form of meditation and storytelling. His creations often blend simplicity with emotion, inviting others to slow down and rediscover joy through paper. In his workshops, he shares the beauty of patience, focus, and the quiet satisfaction of creating something from a single sheet.
Who is it For?
Beginner Level: Age 9+ years
Workshop Outline:
1. Each participant will be given a story writing worksheet to flesh their ideas
2. Then each participant will learn how to fold their character into an origami
3. Everyone will take home their story writing worksheet and the origami character from their story
