Facilitator’s Profile:
Sabyasachi Hazra (b. 1978) is an artist and designer based in Bangladesh. He received his academic training in drawing and painting from Dhaka University. His works range from the conceptualization of communication campaigns and brand identity design to layout and illustrations, which he has rendered for numerous books and periodicals for different age groups. Over the years, he has devoted himself to the exploration of print and publication culture, theory and practices.
He has published several books, viz. Barnamala, Bangla Alphabet Book Collection (Ed., 2023), Bangla Namer Desher Galpo (Ed., 2023), A in the Quest of Bangla Typography (2022), Rong Tulite Chopchap (2018), and Chitralipi (2015).

Workshop Outline:
- REVISIT the historical Bangla calligraphy and typography of Bengal.
- LEARN the key principles of basic calligraphy.
- DISCUSSION on Bangla calligraphy and typography aesthetics.
Participants will receive a complete workshop kit consisting of:
- A tote bag
- Three types of Bangla Calligraphy Pens
- Paper
- Ink
- Clipboard
